Inflationary Cosmology

How do we know that the universe is inflating, and what do we know about that inflationary peroid? Was faster-than light inflation unlikely, or was our inflationary period something that would have happened under most initial conditions for the universe? Leading researchers in the early universe and particle physics Jerome Martin (Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris), Dave Sloan (Oxford), and Robert Brandenberger (McGill) explain the theoretical and empirical status of inflationary cosmology. This workshop took place in the Denys Wilkinson Building, Oxford, on March 14, 2017.
