Joe Silk is Professor of Physics at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, and Homewood Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University. He is Emeritus Savilian Professor of Astronomy at the University of Oxford, and a Fellow of New College. He gained his PhD in Astronomy from the University of Harvard in 1968. He is an expert in the field of cosmology and has published over 500 papers, as well as several books.
