George Ellis

George Ellis will write a chapter on life and the Schrödinger equation.

George Ellis is a distinguished emeritus professor of applied mathematics at the University of Cape Town, a Fellow of the Royal Society, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa. He has written, cowritten, or edited more than a dozen books on topics ranging from cosmology to ethics to urban housing, and has over 500 peer-reviewed articles. He researches the large-scale structure of the universe, the emergence of complexity, and causality as well as the history and philosophy of cosmology and science policy.
