Career & Research

Rafael Alves Batista obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Hamburg, Germany (2015) and MSc in Physics by the State University of Campinas, Brazil (2012). His research interests encompass all aspects of astroparticle physics and cosmology, including cosmic rays, gamma rays, neutrinos, dark matter and cosmic magnetic fields. He has worked in the Pierre Auger Collaboration for many years, looking for sources of the most energetic particles in the universe, the ultra-high energy cosmic rays.
