Mario Livio

Mario Livio will write a chapter on solar systems.

Mario Livio is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and worked on the Hubble Space Telescope as a senior astrophysicist from 1991 till 2015.  He has published more than 400 scientific articles on topics ranging from cosmology and black holes, to extrasolar planets, the emergence of life, and supernova explosions. His popular science books include The Golden Ratio, which won the Peano Prize in 2003, and the International Pythagoras Prize in 2004, Is God a Mathematician?, and Brilliant Blunders. His upcoming book on human curiosity is entitled Why?
