Opportunities for summer internship

Submitted by Rafael Alves Batista on Tue, 12/15/2015 - 22:50

We are offering two summer interships to undergraduate students in physics, to take place in the summer/2016. We are looking for enthusiastic students with interest in astrophysics and cosmology.

Basic knowledge of astrophysics and cosmology are strongly preferred.
Programming skills (e.g. Python, C++, ...) are required. Knowledge of JavaScript is a plus.

The results of these research projects will be used to feed an outreach website on the physics of fine-tuning, which will contain detailed derivations of equations, interactive graphs, and discussion of related topics.

The two available projects for 2016 are listed below.

Information on how to apply, deadlines, and other details are available here.
1) The Apparent Fine-Tuning of the Cosmological Constant
Supervisor: Rafael Alves Batista
2) Standard Big Bang Nucleosynthesis
Supervisor: Khalil Chamcham
